As the Ramadan fasting season befalls, Ethiopian Muslims heap on protests

Ethiopian Muslims have heaped on their peaceful Friday protests in different parts of the Country.

 The protesters in Addis Abeba have echoed the following slogans “Is there no government?,
 The murder of Sheikh Nur Imam is a drama, the Drama should stop, free our leaders, illiterates


cannot lead us, the government itself kills and charges, the terrorist is the government, criminals of the government should appear before court, we are not terrorists, ETV is a liar, Abuki Ambassador,

 Kamil Shemsu Ambassador, Bedru Hussien Ambassador and we will die for our Din”.

Some protesters told ESAT that this Friday’s protest was the biggest of its kind.  Similar protests were held in Woldiya, Nazareth/Adama, Assasa and Shashemane. Observers said that the

government’s focus on the death of Sheikh Nur Imam in Dessie has angered many Muslims leading to this large scale protests
