UDJ to call a “Day of Vociferation” demo in Addis Abeba

The opposition Unity for Democracy and Justice (UDJ) party is to call a vociferation demonstration in Addis Abeba to oppose to the social service problems in Addis Abeba.
The fact that roads constructed with a large amount money have broken few days after they were inaugurated, lack of alterative roads during construction, lack of public transport, stagnation of work in the city, the dysfunctional state of EthioTelecom, which the government calls a “cash cow”, the constant power and water blackout and cuts that has forced children to go distant places to fetch water instead of attending schools are some of the reasons that necessitated the call for a “Day of Vociferation.”
UDJ on its press release stated that EPRDF, which is administering the city now, is responsible for the difficult life that city dwellers are leading and it is incapable of administering the City. The Addis Abeba Council of the Party has said that the “Day of Vociferation” will be held within one month.
It has also called the residents of Addis Abeba to come out en masse and voice their opposition against the regime.
Ethiopians often complain that they are grappling huge problems of power and water cuts, high cost of living, telecommunication service and network disruptions and social issues. The government of EPRDF claims that the economy has been growing at 11% every year.
